“Rare” is an understatement for the beautiful Amigne wines that are the specialty of the Valais village of Vétroz: it is home to 35 of the world’s 40 hectares of the grape!
This year the producers have decided to create a traveling weekend show for these fine wines, with Amigne on the Road replacing the traditional Fleur d’Amigne festival.
Fifteen producers will present their wines, to accompany fine cuisine foods from eight of Switzerland’s best food trucks, say the organizers, with music Saturday night. The party runs late, but several options are offered for transport, if you’re worried about driving.
Be sure to buy tickets ahead – and they appear to be going fast this week – obligatory so they know how much food to provide. For CHF96.90 you get a glass for tasting all the wines, from 15 cellars, plus 7 dishes and 1 dessert from the food trucks.
