Bern, Switzerland (GenevaLunch.com) – The worst drivers in Switzerland are talking on their cell phones or messaging via SMS, according to a survey of 1,000 people in Switzerland, carried out for Comparis.ch, the consumer price comparison group.
Second worst: tailgaters, who hang onto the car in front of them. Men are considered worse drivers than women, and man over the age of 70 are considered particularly dangerous.
Country residents get a lower rating than those in the city and, for those of you who have never mastered parallel parking in small spaces, heave a sigh of relief: few people consider poor parkers to be bad drivers.
Driving too slowly was in third place, but not knowing the rules of the road, hogging the left lane and honking were relatively low on the list of behaviour that will make the Swiss consider you a bad driver.
Canton Aargau was voted by more people than anywhere else to have the worst drivers, but Geneva came out well ahead of the other French-speaking cantons, as home to bad drivers.
