A superb Petite Arvine – but not one for the timid! Powerful, with grapefruit notes that hit your nose immediately and in mouth the distinctive salty touch of this grape variety. One of my favourites for this grape.
We had it at home – fire going nicely in the background, cool mountain nights – with salmon steaks cooked gently in a little olive oil and broccoli and garlic on the side, stir-fried with a touch of soy sauce. The wine held its own without any problem, despite the soy sauce and generous garlic.

- Petite Arvine
- Cave de la Madeleine

- winery
- Light gold, deeper highlights
- Citrus fruits, notably grapefruit but also full-flowering wisteria
- Winery mentions some residual sugar, but with Petite Arvine this doesn't mean sweet so much as rich, surprisingly round. Pleasantly complex.

- ✭✭✭ a special wine, out of the ordinary
