BERN, SWITZERLAND – The 2016 autoroute sticker went on sale this week, CHF40 for the year, the same price as in the past. =

The new sticker can be bought in garages, gas stations, post offices and at customs offices and automobile service offices.

The sticker is valid from 1 December 2015 to 31 January 2017.

Remember to remove your old stickers from the windshield to avoid reducing visibility, Bern cautions.

Note that it’s illegal to re-use a used sticker – CHF500 fine minimum with a risk of a three-year prison sentence for falsifying official documents.
