210 on the autoroute and drunk

14/10/2014 by Ellen Wallace

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The stretch of highway from Sion to Martigny is flat and straight – too much of a temptation for one 22-year-old Valais man, who was caught by a radar driving at 210 kph near Fully. When police caught up with him he tested positive for alcohol. His permit was taken away and he was turned over to judicial authorities: he faces a two-year driving ban and the possibility of up to four years in prison as well as a hefty fine.

A few minutes later the radar caught another driving doing 183 kph in the 120 zone. Police were able to identify the driver and found him at home, where he was arrested.
