GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – March is nearly upon us: you can tell by the number of posters advertising events that will pull in thousands.
The biggest of all is the Geneva Motor Show, which runs from 3-13 March and is expected to have some 700,000 visitors, if previous years’ numbers are repeated. All eyes will be on energy and fuel consumption this year, if with some skepticism following the scandal over fake figures that were unveiled last year.
The car of the year will be announced as part of the show, 29 February at the start of the press days. The runners-up for the title:
Audi A4, BMW 7 Series, Jaguar XE, Mazda MX5, Opel / Vauxhall Astra, Skoda Superb and the Volvo XC90.
Auction for all
The Hoqtel des Ventes auctions that attempt to supply a mix of items for all budgets are growing in popularity, and the spring 2016 auction promises to draw crowds, with Japanese sabres and Hermès designer handbags as well as table cutlery, Swiss paintings and antique Flemish furniture. The sales are 7-10 March, with previews in the days running up to the auctions. Details
Human Rights film festival
