Memoire & Friends wine-tasting day

15/08/2013 by Ellen Wallace Leave a Comment

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND – This has grown, in just 5 years, into one of Switzerland’s best opportunities to taste Swiss wines, particularly for people in the east of the country: 170 producers from the 6 wine regions plus the “fifth Switzerland” (Swiss abroad). The Memoire des Vins Suisse group, with many of the country’s top winemakers, created the exhibition and sales day to invite other producers they consider good for a professionals tasting day that was open to the public.

This year it moves from an exhibition-sales event for professionals to a public affair with no obligation to buy. As a result, a modest entry fee of CHF15 (order online) is being charged, to limit it to wine fans. For those who’ve attended the many cantonal and private open days earlier in the year, this is an opportunity to taste wines that are now more mature, with more time in bottle.
