GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The Swiss rail company’s CFF/SBB.Connect application was named the winner out of 20 bids for the International Public Transport Union’s prize for innovation in customer service. The prize was awarded at the IPTU’s annual meeting, being held this week in Geneva.
The free app has a client base of 30,000 since it went live in December 2012.
They use it via Twitter or Facebook as a social networking tool to chat, find friends on the train, earn points depending on how much time they spend traveling, and for access to special offers.
