Zurich, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – The new and long-awaited Geneva-Milan Cisalpino II train service was interrupted 4 August while the company investigated a warning signal in one of the locomotives, company spokesman Renzo Cicillini said. The trains were rolled out for their test phase 20 July.
All three ETR 610 engines were temporarily replaced by regular Swiss rail company CFF trains. The company hopes to have the service running again 6 August.
The Cisalpino II has been dogged by delays and financial difficulties, and almost forfeited its contract with CFF because of them.
