Switzerland (Le Matin, Fre) – New regulations went into effect over the weekend at Switzerland’s airports, including Cointrin in Geneva, that ban the importation of animal-based food products from non-European Union countries. Milk products, eggs, meat, fish and honey are all on the list of goods that cannot be brought in from Asia, Africa and the Americas as well as other non-EU countries. The new rules are considered sanitary regulations, an area where Switzerland and the EU have virtually identical laws.
