GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Switzerland doesn’t figure prominently in the events around the world for the grassroots’ organized Anti-Food Waste Day, but it’s big news elsewhere. You don’t have to run a soup kitchen today to become a little more aware of how you can contribute to less waste and more food for the hungry. Some good starting points:
Think.Eat.Save with tips on reducing your foodprint and World Disco Anti-Food Waste Day on Facebook, the latter a lively page organized jointly by several groups.
My favourite event of the day so far is in Montreal, at noon their time and online, when two top chefs will show us how to use every last little bit of the tomato (presumably besides just popping it in your mouth). Rotterdam’s chefs are doing a cooking with waste challenge.
