GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Eurocity rail tickets are now paperless, thanks to the introduction of an electronic ticketing system by Trenitalia. The new tickets are valid in both directions and travelers will be required only to show their booking code.

Eturbonews reports that

“The electronic ticket, already available for some time on the routes of the Frecce Trenitalia network, has been extended to international travel bookings on train services connecting Italy and Switzerland every day, in addition to 10 direct links planned for the occasion of Expo Milano 2015, from May 1 to October 31, to and from the Rho Fiera Milano Expo 2015 and Switzerland.”
