GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Yet another weather casualty: the Fêtes de Genève had half as many people as in 2013, the organizers said Sunday. One million visitors to the weeks-long summer festival drew to a close Sunday 10 August.
The shortfall wasn’t particularly a problem for the city itself, which aims mainly to create a welcoming, festive urban spirit, said the festival’s director, Christian Colquhoun, although it was hard on vendors. News agency ats reports that only 7 of 25 days enjoyed good weather.
The Tribune de Genève has a short, small video of the fireworks, for those who missed them.
