Several flood and mudslide alerts have been issued throughout Switzerland, with Bern’s Aar river going over its banks in several areas and Lake Thun at a critical stage. News agency ats’s story about the countrywide situation is carried by a number of media this morning, with reports of strong warm foehn winds of up to 115 kph in some areas in central Switzerland, and temperatures up to 28C. A cold front will sweep across the country from the west later today, so the summerlike temperatures will rapidly disappear.
Geneva and Vaud forecast: 13-20C Tuesday, with heavy rain. Rain diminishing Wednesday and disappearing by Thursday, temperatures 7-19C.
