Floods in Ticino and snow to 2,500 metres
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Heavy rain swept the country Monday, with canton Ticino getting rare level 4 danger warnings from the national weather service, especially the Maggia valley and Locarno area, to the lower Blenio valley. In several mountain areas, the snowline was at 2,500 metres.
Train service was cut in a number of areas in Ticino due to landslides and flooding, from Sunday night to late Monday.
