About the right amount for a glass of Chasselas served in Gruyère with cold cuts: 1.5ml

I’ve posted here before on moderate drinking, using the very good New Zealand government guidelines and European measures. But I’ve had Americans say they find this confusing, given the different standards for measuring, so here are US guidelines.

It’s not only possible to love wine and be a moderate drinker, but it’s the only intelligent approach for your health, to avoid episodic drinking, drink/driving problems and unwanted conflicts – not to mention that drunks generally look a lot more stupid than they realize.

Here are some useful tips from Drink in Moderation and the Standard Drinks Model (US version).

    Good article, as always. Keep up the good work! Perhaps a picture or two of drunks looking more stupid than they think might have livened things up?
