Quart d’heure Vaudois now passé in Lausanne

19/09/2008 by Ellen Wallace

Lausanne, Switzerland (GenevaLunch) – The famous quart d’heure Vaudois that allows people to be 15 minutes late without being impolie, is dead in Lausanne. The arrival of the new M2 metro line has just killed good excuses about traffic holdups.

The new world-class metro line in Lausanne was officially opened Thursday with ribbon-cutting and numerous speeches. Between 15:30 and 20:00 the line was invaded by citizens, as more than 12,000 people rode the new rails.
