Site for Swiss VW owners to check

05/10/2015 by Ellen Wallace

VW Header_960x320_turmeGENEVA, SWITZERLAND – After last week’s announcement by the Swiss government that no new Volkswagen Group cars can be sold in the country, or used ones coming from outside Switzerland, current owners have a bit of help from VW to see if their car is one of the ones concerned.

The special web site set up by the manufacturer is in French, German and Italian and requires simply the owner’s car chassis number.

The federal Roads Office announced Friday that the car sales ban goes into effect today and will apply until further information on emissions is available. It applies to:

AMAG, distributor for the Group, says the site will apply to Audi, Seat and Skoda models soon, according to RTS public broadcasting.
