A standard for wine glasses

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND / AMONG THE VINES – You thought you could drink out of just any old wine glass, right? Wrong, and the world has now agreed on standards for wine glasses, ISO in Geneva says. Here’s the scoop: “The tasting glass consists of a cup (an “elongated egg”) supported by a stem resting on a base. The opening of the cup is narrower than the convex part so as to concentrate the bouquet.”
