Geneva Marathon race course
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – Geneva police have issued traffic and parking restrictions for this weekend, during the Geneva Marathon for Unicef. More than 13,000 runners, a record number, will take part in the full and semi-marathons, which take place on both sides of the lake.
The races start at Chêne-Bourg, then runners head out to the countryside before looping through the centre of Geneva and finishing at the Mont-Blanc bridge. A handisport race the length of a demi-marathon starts ahead of the main races, at 08:00. The demi-marathon kicks off at 08:30 and the marathon and team marathon at 09:15.
Traffic restrictions:
Mont-Blanc and Wilson quays are closed Sunday from 06:00, with detours set up
Mont-Blanc bridge, closed as of 06:00, with detours set up before you reach the bridge; re-opens around 17:00
Gustave-Ador and Cologny Quays closed as of 06:00, with detours.
Barriers will allow limited, filtered traffic in key parts of the route: route de la Capite, route de Jussy, route de Compois, route de Meinier.
