Train riders, have your say on new rail Starbucks

14/11/2013 by Ellen Wallace

New Starbucks service on some Swiss trains starts 21 November 2013

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – The CFF/SBB rail company is soliciting comments from train passengers who use the new pilot project Starbuck’s rail cars that go into service 21 November.

The two companies have agreed to run the pilot project for nine months: two restaurant cars will be converted into mobile Starbucks cafés with a take-away on the lower deck and table service on the upper deck, starting with the first double-decker 21 November twice a day on the Geneva/Fribourg and St Gallen line. The second one will go into service on the same route in spring 2014.

A new Starbucks minibar will provide service throughout the train.

A schedule for the first three weeks is available online, but this will most likely change once the new 2014 schedule goes into effect in mid-December.
