GENEVA, SWITZERLAND – A perfect weekend for wandering in and out of the many food and wine events throughout the country: 18-28 September is Switzerland’s Semaine du goût (La settimana del gusto, Die Genussswoche) 2014.

You’ll find an explanation and list of recommendations on Ellen’s Wine World, where you can also read about concerns over the arrival of the Suzukii pest just as the grape harvest gets underway in most wine regions.

Most of the country will have temperatures Friday and Saturday ranging from 11 to 21C, slightly cooler in the mountains. Some sunshine mixed with occasional showers. Rain will become heavier and more frequent on Sunday, especially around Zurich and in parts of eastern Switzerland.

And if you feel like seeing Geneva, but don’t want to head out, a Geneva-based drone firm that works with Google has a new option for you, out 18 September: Geneva from the air, 360 degrees, by GlobalVision.
