Alcohol, tobacco sales age raised to 18 in France, Internet alcohol ads allowed
Paris, France (GenevaLunch) – The French government has approved raising the age for sales of alcohol and tobacco from 16 to 18 as part of a package of health measures. New regulations will ironically allow, for the first time, advertising for alcoholic beverages on the Internet, as a result of negotiations with the wine industry.
Two Swiss tourists among those missing off Phuket, Thailand
Switzerland (TSR, Fre) – Two Swiss tourists are believed to be among those missing after a ferry capsized in rough waters during stormy weather. The boat was going from Phuket in Thailand to Similan, an island popular with divers.
