Holidays, vacations and wine – where’s the limit?

wine bottles chilling Greece_060715Summer vacation time is here and with it comes more alcohol than usual for a lot of people – beer on the beach, seaside aperitifs then dinner with wine, parties with bright cheery drinks. Take a minute to prepare yourself by knowing how much is enough and what your limits should be.

A great source for this, one of the best I’ve seen, is the Wine in Moderation web site by the European group of the same name.

A handy aid in Switzerland is the little pitchers of open wine, served by the “deci”, or 10 cl, which equals one drink unit of 12% alcohol wine. Keep in mind that it is increasingly difficult to find wines under 13%.
