Mollens and Aminona, Valais, Switzerland (TSR, Fre and Sixieme Dimension in Valais, Fre) – Three hundred citizens of Mollens turned out Tuesday night to look at building plans for a proposed CHF350-400 million luxury resort in nearby Aminona. The Russian developers, Mirax, presented their drawings and models for a resort that will add 1,600 beds to the Crans-Montana region. The resort project is the latest Swiss Alps mega-project to take shape. Mollens is the administrative town for the village of Aminona, whose slopes are part of the Crans-Montana system.

The proposal, under a "Village Royal" banner, calls for five new towers to be added to the existing three and of approximately the same height. It is the one point that appears to draw criticism from local residents. The beds would be part of a complex that will offer 35 to 45 chalets, a 500-room hotel and 225 apartments.
In addition, the resort is designed to have a swimming pool, spas, a year-round ice rink, and shopping area. The Aminona Luxury and Resort Village project should create 200 jobs and take three years to build, once authorization is given. Details of the project: Sixieme Dimension, 4 March.
