Snowfall on the Rhone Valley

13/02/2019 by Ellen Wallace Leave a Comment

Vineyards the length of the upper Rhone in Valais were treated to a gentle snowfall of a few centimetres Monday 11 February. Most vines in the stretch between Visp and Sierre grow at less than 800 metres altitude, so by late in the day the vineyards’ white layer had melted into the soil, but it gave us several hours of weathery beauty.
