The spring wine business season is starting – lots of tasting sessions coming up! Here are some of the events I’ll be attending, that are open to the public. Pull out your calendars now.
Saturday-Sunday 24 and 25 February, Matter of Taste, R Parker Wine Advocate

Tuesday 27 February, Vinea on tour Geneva

Free but advance registration required. 16:00-20:00, Hotel Mandarin Oriental. Web site: “The first edition of “VINEA on tour Geneva” will be held on Tuesday February 27 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel from 4pm to 8pm.
27 well-known producers from all over Switzerland (all VINEA association members) will present their best wines on this occasion. Some bouchées made and a selection of quality cheeses will be served to accompany these exceptional wines.”
Thursday 22 March, Wines from the Mémoire des vins suisses: last 10 vintages presented
15:00-19:00, Hôtel de Ville, Rue du Bourg 14, 3960 Sierre. Free with advance registration or CHF20 at the door.
The purpose of this special annual tasting event is to spread the word about the aging potential of the best Swiss wines, from the treasury of 56 of these that is held by the MDVS.
“La Mémoire des Vins Suisses, association renommée réunissant l’élite des producteurs de vins suisses, ainsi que journalistes et experts du monde viti-vinicole, ouvre une fois par an son trésor de vins mémorables. Dans celui-ci est entreposée une collection complète comptant aujourd’hui 56 vins haut de gamme de toute la Suisse, constituée de millésimes remontant à plus de dix ans, en partie épuisés depuis longtemps. Le but de ces dégustations exceptionnelles est de faire connaître le potentiel de garde souvent méconnu et la noblesse des grands vins suisses. Une occasion rare à ne pas manquer.”
