We’re all crossing our fingers, hoping the fine warm weather will hold for the weekend, with a wonderful holiday (Ascension, a 4-day break for many) series of events on. The Geneva Marathon will keep thousands of runners drinking water, but the rest of us may be sampling wines in Valais, which is holding its open days weekend.
I’ll be visiting them Saturday to try the first of the 2015 wines, with everyone reporting a wonderful vintage. Hours are 11:00-19:00, and entry is free. Public transport is an excellent idea; parking can be limited and Swiss law allows you to drink just one glass, 1 dl, of wine if you’re driving.
Download the cantonal wine group’s brochure for the event and/or the app for details and a list of wineries.
Vineglorious wine book on sale in Coppet Sunday
Sunday I will head to the Jardins en fête fair in Coppet, a good Mother’s Day project for anyone who loves gardens.
Note that Payot from Nyon will be there and will have my book for sale: Vineglorious! Switzerland’s Wondrous World of Wine.
